Handmade Monday 46

Well after Wednesday's fandango with the bike and the heating it hasn't been a bad weekend.  The winds have dropped and Saturday was actually a nice day for walking - and walk I did - into town to get some Christmas shopping!

Today I have had a crochet day - I so love days like this when I can potter around, take the dog out, watch TV do some crafting - all when I want to!

I made some more of the little stars with a hanging bit this time as I'm thinking I'll give these to my close friends instead of Christmas cards this year.  It's always nice to have something that you can keep and bring out next year.  They can hang on the tree or even on a fireplace or wall.

Yesterday when I was in town, I had to pop into the wool shop so I got this really nice grey coloured wool/acrylic mix and made one of the neck scarves for my uncle as part of his Christmas - he likes hill walking so thought this may be handy for him.

As I had some wool left over, I rustled up a pair of these for myself :

So all in all I have had a really nice day.  Pop over to 1st Unique Gifts to see what everyone else has been up to this week.

Mich :)

  2. I love pottering days, especially when I can do what I want in my own time. The stars look really good, do you think they would look like snowflakes if done in white?

  6. The stars look great, I like the idea of making them in white to make them look like snowflakes, maybe add a tiny bit of silver too... It will definitely be a nice alternative to Christmas cards. x

  7. What a great idea. They woul dlook so lovley on Christmas tree too. I like 'pottering' days - nice to not really have anything urgent that needs doing but just do things that take your fancy. They don't happen very often though, do they?

  13. You do manage to work fast! And you even bike and walk! I think I should do the same, it's very healthy. Out weather has been so dismal today, windy windy windy!

  16. What a lovely idea to give a star at Christmas. I am sure your friend would treasure them very much. I like the gloves too even though I think grey is more for a guy. Merry Christmas to you too. Winnie.
