Holiday Over - so sad!

Well, had an amazing time on holiday - who wouldn't love this sort of thing -

Of course we didn't just lie about sunbathing - it turned into a bit of an adventure holiday - jeep safari, rafting, mud bath, boating, walking, swimming - it was a relief to spend the day at the beach!

During the week we went to a market and I stumbled upon a little craft stall selling jewellery and of course I had to buy something! Bought this gorgeous ring and necklace.

In the town near where we were there was the most lovely shop selling handmade things - they had amazing fused glass pieces, however I settled for one of these lucky Turkish balls (mainly for the ease of suitcase packing!)  They had one which was about 12 inches in diameter which I would have really loved to bring home.  It was called an 'earthquake ball' as it would make a noise should there be an earthquake.  It would have been gorgeous hanging in the bay window in my sitting room - maybe next year!

Well I am going to pop over to Handmade Harbour to see what everyone has been up to over this Jubilee weekend.  We had some lovely celebrations in the park in town - 1000 pipers marching through! And the kilt run where they were attempting to beat the world record - which is held by Perth in Ontario, however sadly they were 60 runners short. As we got city status just recently, the council really did their best to make it a great day for a double celebration - and the weather co-operated for once!

Have a great week!
Mich :)

  1. Your holiday sounds fab - I always love to bring something home that's arty or crafty and made locally. Glad the Jubilee celebrations didn't get washed out - I'm afraid it poured here for the planned picnics in the park today x

  3. Welcome home Mich - sounds like you had a really great, 'relaxing' time. Shame to come back to some miserable weather. The earthquake ball is lovely and a very good excuse to go back again next year. Such a shame about the kilt run - so few needed, but the last few are always the hardest. Hope you have a good week.
