Mix and Match!

I have had a good weekends crafting.  I have noticed though that I am skipping from craft to craft and not concentrating on one specific thing and I'm not too sure if this is a good thing or not.  I do enjoy doing different things but wonder if I should be concentrating on one specific thing - be it jewellery, crochet, hair accessories.

For example this weekend I did some crochet - a headband with a detachable flower - which can be worn on its own.

Then I wanted to make one of those flower pictures but in black this time and I decorated the canvas first before attaching the flower.

Then, doing the above put me in mind of the little Light Boxes I used to make a while back so I made one of these too!

The above with the light on:

I also started a crochet wrap/scarf too!  See what I mean about jumping from one thing to another?!  I must sit down and think more about what to concentrate on.  Maybe putting things on the website and seeing what sort of thing is more popular. (Actually can hear my son's voice in my head saying 'Mum concentrate on advertising the website' lol)

Don't plan to start anything else tonight - will just continue on with the wrap/scarf while watching some TV.

Now pop over to 1st Unique Gifts to see what everyone else has been up to this week.

Have a great week!
Mich :)

  1. I have days like that too, when I feel like a butterfly flitting around! I think a lot of us are the same. Lovely work, btw, and it all has quite a linked feel to it.

  7. I get bored if I do the same thing over and over. I guess it's why I don't get really good at one thing, but I guess some of us are just like that. I do like the headband, that is really cool, I've never seen anything like that before.

  12. Oh dear, I know that creative method, fluttering around doing this and that and then, in my case, not being able to finish anything! But you did, and it all looks lovely!

  13. You so remind me of me. I usually endup with a pile of half finished jobs at the side of my TV watching chair and have to force myself to have a finishing off day. Love the headband and flower. I wonder if you do them in other colours???

  14. I love the headband and flower. Sometimes I found all craft are connected somehow and the skill can be transfer between each other. So it is a good idea to have lots of different project going on at the same time as I found you can in inspire your creativities further.

  15. Nothing wrong with a flit it sounds like you're having a creative surge at the moment and nothing else will happen until it is satisfied. Enjoy it!

  18. Must admit to being a butterfly too but I like having several projects on the go at any one time. Your little light box looks very interesting. Love the colours. Hugs Mrs A.

  19. I have to agree with the others, flitting is something most of us are guilty of, and a good thing too.
There is a new Sesame St movie out called 'Once upon a Monster' so the characters are popular again at the moment.

  22. Don't tie yourself down to one form of craft. Just concentrate on what you fancy doing at the time. If you stick to one thing, you will soon get frustrated and lose your Mojo. With different choices available, you can change when you start to get bored with the first. Must stop rambling and say, those flowers are really lovely.
