Back Ashore!

Arrived home last night after a wonderful week at sea - well wonderful apart from 2 nights of rough weather which sent me to bed at 7pm as it was the only place I felt less sea-sick!

We saw some amazing places -Corsica, Rome, The Vatican, Florence, Pisa, St Tropez and Barcelona. Was a very hectic week I will say and not a restful holiday!

The ship itself was amazing and the staff so friendly and helpful.  Our cabin attendant, Ronaldo, was lovely and he would make these towel sculptures every day.  We would return to the cabin to find one sitting on the bed!

I bought this necklace when in Florence. The whole necklace is made out of silver and you can wear it lots of ways.

I am thinking it may be possible to make something like it (not obviously in silver!) - will be trying that in the next week or so. Also got some good ideas for other jewellery to make.

Will post up some travel pictures in the week.

Back to reality and work tomorrow (pah!)

Handmade Monday 66

The week really flies past.  I have been trying to organise things for my holiday on Thursday and think I have most things ready - all holiday clothes washed and ironed and ready for case, passport located (finally), money changed, holiday insurance bought.  I did notice however that I was lacking in some bits and pieces of jewellery to take with me so this weekend I made a few pieces:

The top necklace is made simply from a white ribbon and a basic knot between beads and then a white focal bead in the centre, no catch, it just slips over my head.   The bottom necklace was slightly more involved, made by crocheting firstly with a ribbon yarn and then beads crocheted in after this.  It will tie with a bow at the back of the neck.

Also crocheted a little flower bracelet - really simple, 4 flowers attached on to a silver plated bracelet.

So people I will see you in 2 weeks and will catch up with the 2 handmade Mondays I will miss while away.  I'm heading over to Handmade Harbour to see what everyone has been up to this week.

See you all soon!

Mich :)
