Holiday Pics

Here are a few pictures taken on my holiday.

You can see the cruise ship in the background of this picture taken at the harbour in Palma.

First stop was Ajaccio in Corsica.

Then on to Rome (picture is of one of the ceilings inside the Vatican)

Next was Florence -

Pisa -

St Tropez (very expensive place)

And finally Barcelona - where it rained until we got back on the ship!

Was thinking of these places on my dismal cold cycle to work this morning!
Roll on my next holiday.

Bon Voyage!

Heading off on my first ever cruise tomorrow.  Fly to Palma and then we sail to Corsica, Italy, France and Barcelona.  Really looking forward to it - everyone I have spoken to said a cruise is great.  We have a couple of trips already organised - one to Rome and one to Florence.  I love all things Italian so can't wait for those. Hopefully will get some really good pictures.

On the home front, my 2 night classes are going well.  Though I do have an exam to sit the week I get back so will have to take my books with me for studying while away!

Squeezed in a couple of makes this week -

Black Stewart Wrist Corsage

Also this brooch/pin in the MacIntyre Hunting Modern tartan -

Well have a great week - wont have internet access while away - not much anyway.

Holiday Over - so sad!

Well, had an amazing time on holiday - who wouldn't love this sort of thing -

Of course we didn't just lie about sunbathing - it turned into a bit of an adventure holiday - jeep safari, rafting, mud bath, boating, walking, swimming - it was a relief to spend the day at the beach!

During the week we went to a market and I stumbled upon a little craft stall selling jewellery and of course I had to buy something! Bought this gorgeous ring and necklace.

In the town near where we were there was the most lovely shop selling handmade things - they had amazing fused glass pieces, however I settled for one of these lucky Turkish balls (mainly for the ease of suitcase packing!)  They had one which was about 12 inches in diameter which I would have really loved to bring home.  It was called an 'earthquake ball' as it would make a noise should there be an earthquake.  It would have been gorgeous hanging in the bay window in my sitting room - maybe next year!

Well I am going to pop over to Handmade Harbour to see what everyone has been up to over this Jubilee weekend.  We had some lovely celebrations in the park in town - 1000 pipers marching through! And the kilt run where they were attempting to beat the world record - which is held by Perth in Ontario, however sadly they were 60 runners short. As we got city status just recently, the council really did their best to make it a great day for a double celebration - and the weather co-operated for once!

Have a great week!

Handmade Monday 65

I don't have an actual make picture this week - not that I haven't been making, but it's been corsages and didn't want to post another picture as don't want you getting bored of them!

So talking about my holiday this week.  It wont be long now - a week on Thursday and I will be flying off to Turkey.  There are a group of 7 of us - we all played in the same netball team up until this season.  The annual holiday together started 4 years ago.  I didn't go the first year due to the fact that I'm really scared of flying.  However they seemed to have such a great time that the next year I went (thanks in big part to my doctor who gave me some calming tablets!).  I followed the same routine and went last year too.  Previously too it had been to a villa in Lanzarote however this year for the first time we are testing out Turkey - for those of you who know Turkey we are going to place near Olu deniz.

Here is a picture of us taken last year in Lanzarote - (I am the shorty at the end on the left hand side)

Pop over to 1st Unique Gifts to see what everyone has been up to this week.

Have a great week everyone!
